Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Word Junction — including the web version at word-junction.com, the iOS app, and the Android app (collectively, the "App"). By accessing or using any version of the App you agree to these Terms.

Platforms and scope

Word Junction is available on three platforms:

• Web — free daily puzzle only; no account, no purchases, no virtual economy.
• iOS app — daily puzzle, Levels (adventure mode), practice mode, virtual coin/booster economy, optional subscriptions. Distributed via the Apple App Store.
• Android app — same features as the iOS app. Distributed via Google Play.

Sections below on accounts, virtual items, and subscriptions apply to the iOS and Android apps only, unless stated otherwise.

Licence

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on your devices solely for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. This licence does not allow you to use the App on any device you do not own or control, or to distribute or make the App available over a network where it could be used by multiple devices at the same time.

Accounts (iOS and Android apps only)

Both mobile apps use anonymous sign-in by default — no account creation is required to play. You may optionally link an account using Email, Sign in with Apple, Google, or Facebook to preserve your progress. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. We are not responsible for any loss arising from unauthorised use of your account.

Virtual items — coins and boosters (iOS and Android apps only)

• Coins and boosters are virtual items usable only within the App.
• They have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred to another person or account, or redeemed outside the App.
• Coins may be earned through gameplay or purchased via in-app purchase.
• On iOS, in-app purchases are processed by Apple and subject to Apple's terms and refund policies.
• On Android, in-app purchases are processed by Google and subject to Google Play's terms and refund policies.
• We may adjust coin earn rates or booster costs at any time for balance or operational reasons.
• Virtual items are forfeited if your account is terminated for breach of these Terms.

Subscriptions (iOS and Android apps only)

The Word Junction Pro subscription removes ads and provides unlimited access to all features. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled.

• iOS: billed through your Apple ID. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
• Android: billed through your Google Play account. Manage or cancel in Google Play → Subscriptions.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are given for unused subscription time, except where required by applicable law.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or tamper with the App
• Cheat, exploit, or interfere with the App's puzzle generation, scoring, or economy systems
• Use automated tools (bots, scripts, or macros) to play or interact with the App
• Harass other players or misuse any social or leaderboard features
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App or its backend systems

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates these Terms.

Intellectual property

The App and its content — including its name, design, puzzles, artwork, and underlying code — are owned by the developer and are protected by copyright and other applicable laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from any part of the App except as expressly permitted by these Terms or by applicable law.

Third-party services

The App uses third-party services including Firebase (Google), AdMob, Facebook Login, and Sign in with Apple. Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of any third-party service.

No warranty

The App is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or available at all times. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App — including loss of in-app progress, coins, boosters, or purchased content. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or £10 (whichever is greater), except where liability cannot be limited by law (for example, in respect of death or personal injury caused by our negligence).

Apple — additional terms for iOS users

The following terms apply to users who download the App from the Apple App Store, as required by Apple:

• These Terms are an agreement between you and the developer only — not with Apple, Inc. ("Apple"). Apple has no responsibility for the App and its content.
• Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the App.
• In the event the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
• Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your use of it, including: (a) product liability claims; (b) claims that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (c) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
• In the event of any third-party claim that the App or your possession and use of the App infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Apple will not be responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, or discharge of any such claim.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
• You represent and warrant that (a) you are not located in a country that is subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (b) you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Changes to the App or these Terms

We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the App at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time — we will update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the App.

Termination

These Terms remain in effect until terminated by you or us. You may terminate by deleting the App and ceasing all use. We may terminate or suspend your access immediately, without notice, if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, all licences granted to you under these Terms will cease.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory local consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
